Three Largest Religions of The World

The religion is undoubtedly the part of human life. Researchers say that there are about 4000 different religions in the world and 19 of them spread all over the world. Among these religions Christianity, Islam and Hinduism are the largest ones. Each religion has its own beliefs, concepts, epics and deities.

The World Largest Religions

 The Christianity

It is indeed the first largest religion of the world with more than 250 crores of followers which contributes 33 percent of the world population.. This religion formed before  2000 years. The Bible is the holy book of Christians. The Christianity is formed of three groups namely Roman Catholic Christianity, Protestant Christianity, Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

Lord Jesus

Among them, Catholics have belief in one God. They say that the God made the earth and heaven and also say that He is Father, the son and as well as Holy Spirit. It is said that there are more than 130 crore catholic Christians worldwide. In addition they are also in the belief of the judgement after death according to the good deeds and sins in every ones life and say that paradise means the state of unity of God and human spirit and the ones who did countless sins will reach endless hell. The Catholic Christianity  spread over the countries like South Europe, America, Central and South America, Philippines

About 40 percent of world Christians belong to the second group called Protestant Christianity. The Christians in this group protest against the concepts and beliefs of the Christians from the other two groups. It originates in the 16th century and spread over the countries like Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Hungary. They have faith on justice and do not accept the policy of forgiving those who did countless sins.

The third group of this religion consists more than 300 million followers and most of them live in the countries like Palestine, Greece, Romania, and Russia. They slightly differ from the western groups of Christianity. But, similar to Catholics, they believe in the concept of God as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In addition, they are in the belief of Baptism and the reaching of human spirit into the heaven after death.

Islam

With more than 190 crores of adherents Islam stands as the second largest religion of the world. The Islamic people contribute 25 percent of the world total population. It has spread over about 49 countries and they are in the belief of one God. The God is known as Allah and nobody is equal or companion to him. They say, He is only one worthy to worship and to believe.

Mosque

The Islam says that the ones who preach the concept of the religion are prophets and God made them to born in this earth to guide the people belonging to Islam. The prophet who came last is Muhammad Nabi. The collection of message given by Muhammad Nabi is nothing but Quran which is said to be the noble book of Islam

In Islam there are two groups namely Sunny and Shia. They follow some important spiritual activities in daily life. Praying for 5 times a day is very important to the Muslims. Besides, this religion also preaches humanity. Every year all the people belonging to this religion will perform fasting in the month of Ramalan. Apart from all these things, Haj Travel is the main aim of every Muslim.

Hinduism

Hinduism is the third largest religion of the world with more than 120 crores of adherents. Researchers say that it formed in 2300 BC. But, nobody can so far guess who is the founder of this religion. Somebody tell that Aryans might have brought it, and it is based on four Vedas. Hinduism says, truth never fails and every one should follow Dharma in his life. Moreover, It is duty of all the Hindus to study Vedas and attain the Moksha.

Lord Shiva

Once in South India there had been two groups of Hindus namely Saivites and Vaishnavites, The prime God of Saivites was Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna was of the latter ones. However, these days all the Hindus start praying both prime Gods. Apart from these two Gods, other important Hindu deities are Shakthi, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Vinayakar, Ayyappan, Anjaneyar and Karuppaswamy. Hinduism tells the importance of Vegetarianism. Nevertheless, many Hindu people have the habit of eating non-vegetarian foods, The other spiritual activities of Hindu people include fasting, visiting temples and so on.

Other Important Religions

Besides these three major religions, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism are also some important religions of the world. Among other religions, Buddhism is the fifth largest religion with more than 500 millions of followers and it formed in the year of 483 BC. This religion spread over countries like Bhutan, Myanmar, Cambodia, China, Hongkong, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Tibet and Japan

The other one Jainism was 2,500 years old and it has more than 60 lacs of adherents. In India itself there are more than 45 lacs of Jains and other countries where Jains live are America, Kenya, England and so on.

Sikhism originated in India and Gurunanak was the founder of this religion. Nowadays, there are more than 2.4 crores of Sikhs throughout the world and besides India it spread over countries like Indonesia, Italy and Ireland.

Of course religions render many benefits to the humans. They will really help men to lead a peaceful and healthy life. When a person follows the concepts and life methods of particular religion, it will definitely be helpful to have good mental and physical health. The faith and belief on religions will also lead to a most peaceful and happy life in old age.
