Seven Mysterious Places on The Earth

There are indeed so many mysterious places on this vast earth where we live. When we start thinking about some places, we can not find answers for questions like ‘how is this possible’?. There are still a few places in the world where the mystery is still unrealized. Even historians and archaeologists have not been able to find the exact answers to the questions like why? and how? Here, we will discuss about some mysterious places.

Stonehenge

It is located in the Salisbury plain in southwestern England. The rocks, which weigh 50 tons, are arranged vertically in a circular pattern. These are called sarsens. Between the two vertical rocks there are stones called ‘lintels’ which are transverse at the top. It is said that these are the only sarsens set up with lintels in the world. Inside these rocks are a few more small rocks placed circularly.

The researchers believe that these may have been created before 1500 BC. The larger rocks which have been used for the construction weigh not less than 50 tons and the smaller rocks each weighs about 4 tons. If anyone wanted that rocks to bring to that place, he or she had to travel a distance of at least 32 km and you have to travel a distance of more than 250 km to fetch the rare type of rocks that also have been included. Researchers are still struggling to gather enough evidence before reaching the final conclusions and they wonder how it was possible in that time without transport facilities.

NAZCA lines

These amazing lines called the Nazca are located in the Nazca Desert in the southern part of Peru. These are called geoglyphs and look like the drawing of birds and animals when viewed from a bird’s eye view of the sky. There are more than 300 different lines drawn there. A few lines are incredibly more than 65 km long.

These are thought to have been drawn by Nazca Indians who lived during the period of 300 BC and 800 AD. It is really an incomprehensible mystery that how it was possible in that period when humans did not have means to see from the above. The fact is that every art had been accurately completed without errors. These have long been hidden to the world and were first spotted in the 1920s when viewed from a passenger plane flying over this region.

The Great Pyramids of Egypt

The Great Pyramids are still considered as one of the great wonders of the world. These pyramids are said to be exactly located in the center of the earth and each of the four sides of the pyramids is facing towards 25 percent of the area of earth’s surface. In ancient times, the bodies of the kings and queens of ancient Egypt used to keep safe inside the pyramid after their natural death. It was seen as an honour bestowed on dead kings and queens.

Once again the same question arises, how it was possible to construct such a big structure without mathematical errors. Because, all four sides of these are set at the correct distance. Stones weighing 4 tons to 10 tons were used to build the pyramids. It is also a stunning fact that how the stones used for constructing purpose were brought and from where they were brought in those days when there was no mode of transportation

Today, there are about 93 pyramids in Egypt as large and small ones. Among them, three pyramids are the biggest ones. These are estimated to have been built around 4650 BC. The Khufu pyramid is made up of 1.3 crore limestones. Each of these rocks weighs 5 tons, which is about the weight of an elephant. Each side of the Khufu Pyramid is 230 meters long. This largest pyramid is spread over an area of ​​13 acres and 146.5 meters high. However, its current height has been reduced to 137 meters due to the looting of limestones by pirates.

Bermuda Triangle

This is also a place where the knots of mystery remain untied till today. This is so called that three islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean and one get a triangle shape connecting these islands. These are adjacent to the US state of Florida. The sea between the three islands of Miami, Bermuda and San Juan is called the sea of Bermuda Triangle. 

The unrevealed thing is that planes, helicopters, ships and boats passing through this sea area will mysteriously disappear. The first U.S. warplane to mysteriously disappear off the coast of Florida in 1945 had been the sensational news. So far 100 boats and several planes and ships have disappeared in this area. Most incidents were found to occur only at night times. Many reasons for this happening have been attributed to the magnetic field, piracy, and aliens. However, scientists believe that bad weather or the magnetic field may also be the cause of such incidents.

Easter Island with Mysterious Statues

This is a separate island in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the South Pacific and Chili. It is believed that more than 10,000 people lived here during the 16th century. The amazing fact is that there are more than 800 large statues called ‘moai’ on the island.

Each statue is 4 meters high on average and weighs 14 tons. As usual scientists are amazing that how such large statues were designed when there was no chance of getting the rocks inside this island. Ancient scientists suggest that the statues represent the ancestors who lived there.

Teotihuacan

During 600 AD, Teotihuacan was the sixth largest city in Mexico. It is said that 2 lakh people lived here during that period. But, 150 years later, the entire population left the city. Trees began to sprout in the built pyramids there. It is unknown till today this time what could be the strong reason for having given up such a big city . There is a thought that it may be due to the biggest fire in the city.

Jatinka in Assam

The flocks of birds mysteriously die in Jatinga, Assam, India. During the months of September-November, birds used to flock here in large numbers at night times. In the next morning all the birds lay down dead. The people of the area believed that the cause was an evil spirit. But, over time they changed their belief that the Lord feeds them these birds. However, the cause of the death of the flock of birds has not yet been found.
