Effects of Excessive Sleep on Health

Recent studies have shown that excessive sleep also has its impact on physical and mental health. In fact sleep is very important for good health. Children below 13 years require at least 10 hours sleep a day as they are growing. But, adults need only 7 to 8 hours to maintain good body health.

Whenever adults sleep for more than 10 hours a day, there are chances to face following health problems.

It may cause Depression: Medical researches have confirmed that about 50% of people who suffer from depression used to sleep for more than 9 hours a day. Scientists say that excessive sleep will reduce brisk activity of brain.

Women will easily get conceived: Ladies who exceeds the recommended sleep may face many health problems. They would get less chances to be pregnant as it create changes in secretion of hormones and mensuration cycle. At the same time, women who sleep for 7 to 8 hours will easily get conceived.

It creates Obesity Problem: Persons who have the habit of excessive sleeping may also face obesity problem. Even diet control and body exercise won't help ones who excessively sleep in reducing body weight.

Chances to get heart attack and diabetes: Recent research conducted among 3000 persons reveals that persons who excessively sleep have two times chances to get heart attack and diabetes.
